Welcome to our historic and romantic Virginia Bed and Breakfast!  The 1848 Island Manor House Bed and Breakfast on Chincoteague Island is nestled on Virginia’s beautiful Eastern Shore.  Our historic B&B is located in the charming community of Chincoteague.  An island filled with romance and yester-year charm, Chincoteague is located between Virginia's Eastern Shore mainland and the famous Assateague Island.  Here you will enjoy the Chincoteague National Refuge, Assateague National Seashore, Assateague Lighthouse, Eastern Coastal migratory birds and the wild ponies.  

We are Chincoteague Island’s most historic B&B, having played a role in island history since before the days of the American Civil War.  This romantic Bed & Breakfast is host to several beautiful weddings, receptions, and various group events throughout the year.  The 1848 Island Manor House Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to stay for any occasion.

You are sure to enjoy the many common rooms, which provide ample space for relaxation, conversation and games.  Come warm yourself by the garden room fireplace on those chilly winter evenings.  Curl up with a good book in the Parlor, or join in conversation with others in the comfy Living Room.  Each guest room is furnished for your comfort and gentle night’s rest.  On many afternoons freshly baked goods can be found in the dining room.  Of course, you will wake each morning to the smell of warm homemade muffins, robust coffee, and an assortment of teas and juices all of which are just part of the hearty Southern decadent breakfast.   

For your convenience, our romantic Virginia Bed and Breakfast is open year round!  Several romance packages are designed to provide couples with cherished weekend trips, honeymoons or anniversary celebrations.  And, to complete the package, we will gladly make reservations for dining at one of the several quaint restaurants that are located on the island.  Fresh flowers and special occasion gift packages can most certainly be provided in your room upon arrival so be sure to inquire about these and their pricing when making your reservation.
